BPIF Cartons members gather for President's annual Lunch

On 12 January, BPIF Cartons members gathered for one of their post popular meetings of the year - the President's Lunch.

The event brings together senior managers from many of the UK's carton producers and a wide range of the industry's key suppliers. This year it was held at the 600 year-old Crypt at St Etheldreda's - one of London's hidden architectural gems, where the day's programme consisted of updates on the activities of BPIF Cartons as well as a trailer for the Senior Sales Training and Dinner in April.

President of BPIF Carton's, Robert Davison, said: "We were pleased to welcome so many members who represent the majority of the UK's carton makers and their suppliers. Our industry has sales of over £1 billion and supplies packaging for many of the UK's best known brands. This year's event was set against the background of a consumer backlash against non-recyclable packaging. The carton industry, in contrast, offers a uniquely sustainable product that is made from natural resources. Cartons are the preferred choice of packaging material by the majority of consumers and new developments in print effects have ensured they offer brand owners a wide range of marketing opportunities. As the environment is at the forefront of so many people's minds, this is an exciting time for the carton sector."
