Together we have been able to achieve excellent coverage of the overall UK carton sector; valued at just over £1.5 billion in 2024 and employing over 7,000 people.
Responses to our latest data collection helped us build a data model covering around 74% of the volume of cartonboard purchases made, 75% of the total turnover (79% of Food and 63% of Non-food) and 74% of total employment.
The Food / Non-Food proportioning has remained roughly at 75% to 25%. As last year, the largest sub-sectors are chilled food, followed by pharmaceuticals and medical products, and then beer and soft drinks.
