BPIF Cartons matches training to investment

BPIF Cartons matches training to investment

BPIF Cartons recently organised two highly successful training days for its members in collaboration with Heidelberg and Sun Chemical. The days were attended by employees from several leading UK carton manufacturers including Alexir Packaging, Curtis Print & Packaging, Glossop Cartons, Multi Packaging Solutions and Qualvis Print & Packaging. Employees attended Heidelberg's impressive training facility in Brentford and Sun Chemical's advanced training suite in South Normanton.

The objective of the training was to take the employees, who had varied levels of experience in the industry, through some of the latest developments and to provide practical guidance on any issues encountered during the production process. Jon Clark, General Manager of BPIF Cartons, said, "The UK carton industry has invested tens of millions of pounds over the last few years in order to offer its customers the best productions options. However, it is essential that this investment in machinery is equally matched by employee training to develop skills and hone knowledge.

"We also wish to develop the next generation of employees and this training is seen as a fundamental part of this process. These training days, which were offered to members on a complimentary basis, helped to strengthen confidence and provided the perfect environment to learn and share experiences.

"BPIF Cartons now aims, in collaboration with Heidelberg, Sun Chemical and other partner members, to offer similar training to members' employees and will expand the courses on offer to cover all parts of the carton production process. Courses will continue to develop based on feedback from attendees on the various courses."
