BPIF Carton Conference goes green
"Over 180 delegates attended the BPIF Carton Conference 2008 at Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire on 7 and 8 April. This was not only over 20% up on 2006 but had a very different theme - "Carton Confident", designed to reflect the progress the industry has made in the last two years.
Speakers from within the industry, suppliers and importantly customers entertained the audience with a big theme of the day centering on the ‘Environment’. Many speakers suggested that the folding carton industry is in a perfect position to respond to that particular challenge. Not only are many cartons already made of recycled fibres but cartons themselves are ideal materials themselves for recycling.
The final session of the conference was lead by David Barnfield who gave a mini tutorial on sales techniques to send the delegates on their way buzzing with ideas.
Attendees at the gala dinner the night before the conference were entertained by anecdotes from racing driver Perry McCarthy, the original Stig from the TV programme Top Gear.
The conference was organised by a small committee of members lead by BPIF Cartons President John Monks; and the conference was organised by Angel Business Communications"
