HOW BOARD IS MADE COURSE AT HOLMEN IGGESUND

In October 2024, Holmen Iggesund Workington hosted the recent BPIF Cartons Foundation training course on Board making, engaging employees from four carton converters – Offset Print & Packaging Ltd, Pro Ampac,Glossop Cartons and Print (GCP), and Castle Colour Packaging Ltd.

The course included a visit to Low Moor forest for insights into forestry management and a detailed explanation of the board-making process. Attendees saw how wood chips are produced and transformed into board. They saw the board machine and were particularly impressed by the sheeting machine in action, gaining valuable insights into the machinery involved in boardmaking.
