Carton Edge Raises the Bar for Carton Finishers
Last Tuesday, Michael Johnson, opened Carton Edge's impressive new factory which has raised the bar in the carton finishing sector.
In front of an invited audience of Carton Edge customers, Mr Johnson formally opened the new plant, two miles from the company's previous site in Coventry. Mr Johnson said, "What Carton Edge have done here is very exciting. They have created a facility that many carton makers themselves would be proud of, let alone carton finishers."
With 14,000 square feet of space, plus room for expansion, the Carton Edge plant houses three new tray forming lines, in addition to the gluing, window patching, pick & place, edging and over-labelling lines the company is known for. Carton Edge sees tray production as a growing market which it can serve.
Help with the layout of the plant was provided by specialists from the BPIF, while relocation assistance was provided by Advantage West Midlands, the Regional Development Agency for the area.
Carton Edge has also implemented a substantial lean manufacturing programme at the new plant with advice and assistance from Vision in Print.
