Investing in People

BPIF Cartons has recently organised a series of complimentary training courses for all its converter members that have been offered by partner members:  Iggesund, Lasercomb and Sun Chemical. The courses, pitched to appeal to a range of employees, have helped to extend specific background knowledge as well as providing new operator skills.

Jon Clark, BPIF Cartons’ General Manager, said: “The courses have been well-received by members and the limited number of places have all been allocated very quickly. The carton industry has continued to invest in state-of-the-art print and finishing equipment so it is crucial that this expenditure is equally matched by investment in people. The ability to fully understand a machine’s capability maximises utilisation, strengthens productivity and underpins product quality. We intend to continue to offer further training opportunities, in collaboration with our partner members, throughout the year.”
